Agnes T. (Butler) Hawes, 89, of Hudson, died on Sunday, Feb. 15th surrounded by her loving family at the Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Worcester. She was the beloved wife of 25 years to the late Edward F. Hawes who died in 1990.
Agnes was born and raised in Cambridge, daughter of the late James and Norah (Lyons) Butler. She resided in Hudson for many years and took great pride in the care of her home and raising her son. In 2005 she moved to Worcester to live with her son Ned and his family. She was employed as a secretary by the Data General Co. in Westborough for many years until retiring in 1990.
Agnes enjoyed the simple things in life and cherished being around her family. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and loving grandmother, she will be truly missed.
She is survived by her son, Edward "Ned" Hawes of Worcester and her grandson, Dylan E. Hawes of Worcester. She also leaves several other relatives and dear friends.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Feb. 20th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Thursday Feb. 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749
