Alan J. and Mildred A. (Regalia) Linehan, of Hudson passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 2, 2016 with their loving family by their side and under the care of Beacon Hospice. Their life together spanned many years of love and joy, including 55 years of marriage. Mildred and Alan now rest in peace together, passing away within minutes of one another.
Alan was born in Dorchester, beloved son of Alan and Ann (St. Croix) Linehan. He was raised in Milton where he attended local schools and was a graduate of Milton H.S. He served in the U.S. Army as a Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a dedicated and loyal employee of the Ford Motor Co. for 23 years which included 7 years residing in Teterboro, NJ, commuting home on weekends to be with his family. Upon retiring from the Ford Motor Co., he continued working locally for Blue Line in Acton and later CIS-US in Bedford. He was the past President of both the Hudson Historical Society and Friends of the Vic Dyer Music Shell in which he was instrumental in securing donations of building materials to complete the Shell.
Mildred was born and raised in Quincy, beloved daughter of Charles and Emilia (Re) Regalia. She attended local schools and was a graduate of Quincy H.S. Prior to moving to Hudson, she was employed as an Executive Secretary to the Vice President of the John Hancock Insurance Co. She was very active in the Hudson Community, working in various capacities including Dept. Public Works; Census Taker; Voter Pollster; Assistant Town Clerk and Town Clerk. She retired in 2001 after spending 25 years serving the community of Hudson. In January 2016, she retired as Loan Officer for Hudson M.E.F. Credit Union after 23 years of loyal service. Mildred served on the Hospitality Committee for the Hudson Historical Society.
Alan and Mildred loved the Town of Hudson and enjoyed their 52 years of residence in the town. They also looked forward to spending the winter months and residing for 26 years in Heron Pointe. Lake Suzy, FL. They were deeply religious in their Catholic Faith and were members of St. Agatha's Church in Milton; St. Ann's Parish Church in Quincy; San Antonio Catholic Church in Port Charlotte, FL for 26 years and members of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson for over 50 years.
They shared many things in their lives together including membership in Heron Pointe Men's and Women's Bocce and Shuffleboard Teams in Florida; visiting family and friends in Newfoundland, Canada; trips to Cape Cod; York, ME (Perkins Cove and Nubble Light) and camping trips throughout the Northeast to Pennsylvania. They both enjoyed reading, gardening, checkers, story-telling, camping, caring for their wonderful pets and were both avid Red Sox and Patriot fans. They enjoyed the Arts, playing bingo and always looked forward to socializing with friends. Most of all they cherished their family, especially watching their grandchildren in music, dance and sports.
Alan and Mildred were the loving parents of, Susan Kenney and her husband Edward of Harwich Port, Kathleen Belanger and her husband Russell of Tyngsboro. They were devoted grandparents of, Alyssa and Alex Belanger of Tyngsboro, Hailey Kenney of Harwich Port, Renee and Kayla Romac, daughters of Denise and Thomas Romac of Chelmsford.
Alan leaves his brother, Ralph Linehan and his wife Ruth of Weymouth; his sister, Marilyn Ferrara of Weymouth and was predeceased by his brother Edmund Linehan of Quincy.
Mildred leaves her sisters, Jean Rush and her husband Thomas of Braintree and Louise Murray and her husband Wayne of Manomet. Both Alan and Mildred are survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout Massachusetts Southshore, Connecticut, New Jersey and Florida along with their many loyal friends.
Funeral services for Alan and Mildred will be held simultaneously with a funeral mass to be celebrated on Wednesday, April 6th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial services will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, April 5th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
