Alexandre R. Santos

Alexandre R. Santos, a beloved figure in the Hudson community, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on December 27, 2024, after a courageous 3 year battle with Pancreatic Cancer. 

Born on September 5, 1962, in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, he carried with him a love for his family and a pride for his business. In his early years, Alexandre worked for S&F Concrete as a laborer until 2001 where he became the proud owner of Firehouse Seafood. He owned & operated Firehouse Seafood for over 20+ years, before retiring and passing the family business to his daughter & son-in-law in 2021. He was known for his exceptional customer service and for having the “freshest seafood” in town.

He took pride in being a family owned Portuguese business in the ever growing Hudson community and with over 20+ years in business he made many friends that he cherished. Alexandre was a man of family & faith where he would often extend his generosity to. He cherished Hudson’s Imperio Mariense & St Michael’s Parish where he often donated & extended his services too. He was always a call away to help his children & siblings when in need as he was often the man of many hats. If you didn’t find him working, you could always find him at his rental properties or mowing his lawn. He took pride in the life he had created for himself & his family. 

Alexandre cherished his family deeply. He is survived by his loving wife of 38+ years, Nelia M. (Monteiro) Santos of Hudson Ma; devoted son, Michael M. Santos of Milford, along with his partner Joseph Beauregard; and his beloved daughter, Christine A. Pabon, and her husband Michael of Hudson. He is also survived by his grandson Jason Alexander Pabon, who was born the day before his passing. He leaves behind his mother Rosa Santos Resendes, his predeceased father Jose Medina Santos, 5 brothers, Jose Resendes Santos, and his late wife Deolinda Santos of Santa Maria, Manuel Resendes Santos of Hudson, Leonel Resendes Santos of Hudson, Joao Dinis Resendes Santos and his wife Monique Santos of California, Antonio Isidro Resendes Santos of Santa Maria; 4 sisters, Celestina Resendes Santos Monteiro and her husband Jose C. Monteiro of Santa Maria, Maria Rosa Resendes Santos of Santa Maria, Ana Maria Sousa of Hudson, and Regina Coelho and her husband Johnny Coelho of California, along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In 1987, Alexandre achieved one of his proudest accomplishments by marrying the love of his life, Nelia. Their bond was a source of strength and happiness for him in these past 3 years through his cancer journey. He found joy in various hobbies that enriched his life, particularly his trips to Pompano Beach, Florida, where he would relax and enjoy the sun. His love for animals was evident, and he cherished the moments spent with Christine's English Bulldog, Kanc, who often accompanied him on rides.

Alexandre is a true testament of what faith & strength can do when fighting cancer. He often persevered in difficult and trying times in his battle but he never gave up hope. He will be remembered for his strength & love for his family. 

A visitation will be held on January 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, located at 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass celebrating his life will take place on January 8, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Saint Michael Church on Manning Street, Hudson, MA, followed by a graveside service at Saint Michael Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
