Alexandrina S. Fernandes

Alexandrina Silva Fernandes, 93, of Hudson, MA, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Abilio Fernandes, with whom she shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2006. Alexandrina was born and raised in Beça-Boticas, Portugal, daughter of the late Antonio Dias Veiga and Florinda Silva. She emigrated from Portugal to the United States, settling in Hudson, MA in 1973. She was employed by the Bose Company for many years, and she was a devout member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA.

 Alexandrina is survived by her daughter Lina Baptista and her husband Adriano of Framingham, MA; her two sons, Candido Fernandes and his wife Maria M. of Hudson, MA, Antonino (Tony) Fernandes and his wife Carol of Peabody, MA; her grandchildren: David, Mark, Claudia, Melissa, Michelle, Emily, and Rachel and great-grandchildren: Lucas, Leo, Cecilia, Laila, Jack, and Fernanda. She is also survived by her sister Izilda Fernandes of Portugal along with her many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was predeceased by her brother Antonio and two sisters, Joaquina Silva and Teresa Matias.

Alexandrina enjoyed the outdoors and found joy in her daily walks, gardening, cooking, and attending church. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, she took great pride in raising her family and caring for her home. Her happiest moments were those spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Alexandrina will be greatly missed by all who loved her, as her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love touched the hearts of everyone around her.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 10:00 AM in Saint Michael Church 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA; followed by a burial service at Saint Michael Cemetery at 11:00 AM.
