Hudson, MA
Alfred R. Barton, 79, a lifelong resident of Hudson, died on Thursday, July 23rd at the Chelsea Soldiers' Home in Chelsea. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Theresa M. (Santella) Barton of Hudson.
Alfred was born in Marlboro, son of the late Ernest and Annette (Benoit) Barton. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools and was a graduate of Hudson High School. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army until being honorably discharged in 1955. He was a longtime employee of the Town of Hudson Department of Public Works. He was a life member of the Hudson Elks, Riverside Rod and Gun Club and the V.F.W. of Hudson. He was a member of Christ the King Parish and Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Michael Barton and his wife Mev and their son Michael Joseph all of Waltham; his daughter, Tammy Johnson and her husband Todd and their children Alexandra, Samantha and Calvin all of Hudson along with his four brothers, Edmond, Edward, Robert and Ernest Barton. He was predeceased by his siblings Georgette and Raymond.
