Hudson, MA
Alfred L. Benway, 83, died Sunday, November 27, 2005 at home surrounded by his family. He was the Husband of the late Elvira C. ( Ferrecchia) Benway. Born in Hudson, MA, son of the late Francis K. and Rose (Seymour) Benway.
During World War II, he served as a second Lieutenant of Infantry, where he saw action with the 28th Infantry Division during the Ardennes Campaign. He was past Post Commander of the Marlboro VFW and a life member of the Hudson AMVETS.
Al was a machinist with Lombard Governor of Ashland for many years, for Entwistle Corp. of Hudson and later worked as a custodian at Marlboro Hospital.
He leaves his five children: Kenneth Benway of North Carolina, Steven Benway of Boston, David, Ronald and Lisa Benway all of Marlboro: along with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and his longtime companion Marguerite Jenkins.
He is pre-deceased by his sisters Marguerite, Irene, Barbara and Rose, and by his brother Francis. He is survived by his brother Robert Benway of Hudson.
A private family visitation is planned, followed by interment at Saint Michael's Cemetery.
