Berlin, MA Alfred Earl Bombard, 81, of Berlin, died on Saturday, April 30th at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. He was the beloved husband for 58 years to the late Doris Rose (Garceau) Bombard who died in 2009.
Born in Hudson, son of the late Daniel J. and Lillian (Carr) Bombard, he was a former supervisor at the Waters Manufacturing Company for many years until his retirement. He resided in Marlboro prior to moving to Berlin in 1959. He operated a television and radio repair shop from his residence in Berlin into the 1970's and enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He also enjoyed repairing old clocks in his spare time.
He is survived by his children, Kathleen Caves and her husband Douglas of Fitchburg, Nancy Bombard and her partner John Prendiville of Worcester and Susan Bombard of Berlin. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, May 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. A funeral service and burial in South Cemetery, Berlin will be held at the convenience of the family.
