Alfred “Al” J. Lamore, 90 of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9, 2018, at Care Dimensions in Lincoln, Ma, with his loving family by his side, after a period of declining health. He is survived by his beloved wife of over 64 years, Lena F. (Orifice) Lamore.

Al was born in and raised in Winooski, VT, one of thirteen children of the late Alfred J. and Emma M. (Houle) Lamore. After graduating from Winooski high school Al proudly served his Nation in the United States Army in both WWII and the Korean War. Upon his return from service, he married the love of his life, Lena F. (Orifice) Lamore on November 22, 1953. Together they settled in Waltham, Ma, where Al worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service. Al and Lena later moved to Sudbury where they resided for over forty years. Al also worked in the mailroom for over ten years at the Newton Waltham Bank after he retired from the Post Office.

Al was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans in Waltham and Sudbury. He also enjoyed listening to country music and playing cribbage with friends and family. Most of all Al was an avid coin and stamp collector, whose extensive collection spanned many decades.

In addition to his wife, Al was also survived by his two sons, Joseph A. Lamore and his wife Karen of Hudson and John A. Lamore and his companion Patty of Florida; four grandchildren, Tanya M. Pashalian and her husband Scott, Kristalena Lamore and her fiancé Keli'i, Jarrod Lamore and Jacob Stalker; three great-grandchildren, Domenic Pashalian, Juliana Pashalian and Elliana Pashalian; four brothers, Raymond Lamore, William Lamore, Robert Lamore and James Lamore; a sister Shirley Lamore and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by three brothers, Bernard Lamore, Clarence Lamore and Roland Lamore and four sisters, Therese Lamore Maguire, Jeanette Lamore, Anita Lamore and Beverly Lamore.

Calling hours will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, June 14, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, Ma. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, June 15, 2018, at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 160 Concord Rd, Sudbury, Ma; followed by Final Committal Services in Wadsworth Cemetery in Sudbury.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Soldiers’ Home in Chelsea, 91 Crest Avenue, Chelsea, MA 02150.
