Alfred J. Thoman, 79, of Hudson, died Wednesday, Aug. 12th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife, Rose M. (Ruddy)Thoman of Hudson.
Alfred was born in Scranton, PA, son of the late Alfred F. and Mae H. (Smith) Thoman. He was employed as an electrical engineer for many years by the Raytheon Company until retiring in 1992. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army. He was a member of the former Knights of Columbus in Hudson, Massachusetts Citizens for Life, Problem Pregnancy, Inc. of Worcester," Spring House" in Berlin and member of Saint John's Parish in Clinton.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Mark Thoman and his wife Maryann of Bolder City, NV, Joseph A. Thoman and Paul Thoman and his wife Karen, all of Nashua, NH, Marcy Ann Thoman of Hudson, and Eric Thoman of Manchester, NH. He is also survived by his nine Grandchildren; two Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ellen Byron.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 15th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint John's Church, 80 Union Street, Clinton. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 14th, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
