Alice Mickens, age 52, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Alice was born March 19, 1968, in Patterson, NJ, to Patricia and William Gardiner. She was raised in Riverdale, NJ alongside her 7 siblings. She graduated from Kinnelon High School in 1986 and attended Niagara University where she earned a B.A. in Tourism and Event Management. After graduating, she started her career at National Trade Shows, Inc. where she was a marketing specialist, managing relationships with suppliers and travel agents. Eventually, she would leave the travel industry and raise her children.
Alice enjoyed camping in the Catskill mountains surrounded by mother nature. She enjoyed reading along the East Branch of the Delaware River while her husband fished for trout and her children played nearby. Around the campfire, Alice would share stories, food and laughter with friends and family. She loved these moments.
But above all else, Alice loved her four children and was a devoted and loving wife. Alice and her husband Mark were high school sweethearts. They married in 1993 and welcomed their beautiful children in 1995, 1997, 2000 and 2002.
Alice leaves her loving husband and soulmate, Mark; her daughter Joan Gibson and her son-in-law Joey; her daughters Brittany and Franchesca, and her son Mark, Jr. Alice is survived by her father William Gardiner (Berlin, MA); her brother Philip Gardiner and sister-in-law Susie (Pompton Lakes, NJ); her sister Rita Vigneault and brother-in-law Andre (Alton, ME); her sister Joan Gardiner and brother-in-law Jim Harvey (Rock Hill, NY), her sister Mary Villano and brother-in-law Bill (Marlborough, NY); her sister Althea Aranda and brother-in-law Mike (Berlin, MA); her sister Patricia Montani and brother-in-law Larry (Freehold, NJ) and numerous nieces and nephews.
