Alice M. Spencer, 86, of Hudson formerly of Worcester died Sunday, March 1, 2009 surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Palmer , MA she was the daughter of the late Arthur "Happy" and Sadie (Englehardt) Spencer. A skilled seamstress she worked for Weintraub's Domestics in Worcester and Crown Loyal of Westboro. After retirement she indulger herself in spending quality time with her family, playing bingo and traveling. She was happiest with a full tank of gas and a destination. She was a dedicated volunteer at the Hudson Food Pantry for 13 years.

Alice's family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff at Fairlawn Rehabilitation Hospital, Knollwood Nursing Center and St. Vincent's Critical Care Unit all in Worcester for their compassionate care and unyielding support provided to her family.

She is survived by her four sons, Edward Cox of Oxford, Kenneth Cox of Cleveland, GA, and Steven Cox of Raymond, ME and David Cox of Worcester; one daughter, Nancy (Cox) Timmons of Great Barrington, MA. She is survived by a brother, Harold Spencer of Athol. She is also survived by her nine precious grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Leonard Cox and sister of the late Edward and Bill Spencer.

A funeral Mass to celebrate her life will be held on Thursday March 5, 2009 at 9:00AM in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning St, Hudson. Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central St, Hudson, MA on Wednesday March 4, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Alice's memory may be donated to the Hudson Food Pantry, 28 Houghton Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
