Allen James Reed

Allen James Reed, 66, of Hudson, Ma, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 25, 2020, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Allen was born in Waltham, MA, on September 12, 1953, a son of the late Ethan A. and Jean (Ware) Reed. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served his Country during the Vietnam War from 1972 until 1976, receiving many commendations and earning the rank of Sergeant. Allen returned home from service and began a long and successful career as an electrical engineer, spending many years with Avid Technology and later retiring from Bose Corporation.

Allen married Marie (Ford) Reed in July of 1984 and shortly after they settled in Hudson where they raised their two children and still currently reside. As a true engineer Allen was a handyman and enjoyed building and fixing things, especially if required taking things apart and putting them back together.

His wife of over 35 years, Marie (Ford) Reed and his two children, Jillian Reed of Marlborough and James Reed of Woburn, survives Allen.

A graveside committal service and Military Honors will be held at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson. Funeral arrangements are trusted in the care of Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home and at the request of the family will be private.
