Alton J. "Buddy" Robey, 75, of Hudson, formerly of Framingham and Bath, NY, passed away on Friday, Oct. 18th at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, Belmont Street Campus in Worcester. He leaves his loving daughter, Lisa Horning of Hudson; his fiancAC. Karen Burgess of Hudson; his sister, Eleanor Hamel and her husband Arthur of Framingham; his brother, Daniel Robey of Brunswick, ME and his two beautiful loving grandchildren, Miles and Sophia Horning of Hudson. He was predeceased by his son John Robey and his sister Marilyn Eagan-Rowell.
Alton was born in Boston, son of the late Daniel and Marjorie (Eagan) Robey. He moved to Framingham where he attended Saxonville High School. He served in the U.S. Navy assigned to the U.S.S. Leyte and was a Korean War Veteran. He worked as a barber for many years prior to working in the construction field and retired to Bath, NY. He resided in Bath for many years until most recently moving to Hudson to be close to his family. Alton was an accomplished cribbage player and won many tournaments throughout the years. He truly cherished the time he spent with his family and they will miss him greatly.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Oct 26th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial services will be held privately in Bourne National Veterans' Cemetery at a later date. There are no calling hours and all are encouraged to go directly to Saint Michael's Church on Saturday.
