Ana Andrade

Ana (Reis) Andrade, 88 of Marlborough, formerly of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 11, 2018, at Shrewsbury Nursing and Skilled Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family. She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband of over 46 years, Jose C. Andrade.

Ana was born and raised on the Azorean Island of Santa Maria, the daughter of the late Manuel Figueiredo Reis and Ana Soares Moura. She married the love of her life Jose Andrade and together they immigrated to Hudson in 1966. They returned home to Santa, Maria, Azores in 1971, but returned permanently in 1978. Ana worked as a machine operator for the Thomas Taylor Company in Hudson for many years before she retired. She was also a longtime member of Saint Michael Parish in Hudson.

Ana, a true matriarch, devoted her life to caring for family and she cherished her time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing cards, especially “Burro”, which she played with her entire family with her jar of pennies. Ana was also an avid gardener and she loved collecting dolls as well.

Ana is survived by her children, Manuel Andrade and his wife Cidalia of Fitchburg, Antonio Andrade and his wife Fatima of Methuen, Beatriz Braga and her husband Antonio of Hudson, Joseph Andrade and his late wife Andrea of Hudson, Francisco Andrade of Lunenburg, Anna Sullivan and her husband Larry of Marlboro, Fatima West and her husband George of Lunenburg and Lucia Burks and her husband Michael of Hudson; twenty grandchildren, Steve Andrade., Brian Andrade., Erica Medeiros., Vickie Andrade., Lisa Braga., Jason Braga., Christina Warner., Olivia Andrade., Michelle Andrade., Kamila Andrade., Monica Andrade., Brenda Andrade., Jessica Andrade., Scotty Santos., Adam Santos., George Allen west, Ashley Paul., Branden West., Michael Burks. Jr. and Tiffani Burks.; eleven grandchildren, Alyssa, Micah, Gideon, Marcelo, Lorenzo, Amajah, Chloe, Isabella, Olivia, Gabriella and Audrina; three siblings Francisco Reis, Benardino Reis and Rosa Figueiredo all of Ontario, Canada and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was also predeceased by nine siblings, her children Manuel Andrade and Maria Andrade; her grandson, Michael Andrade; and her great-granddaughter, Victorya Santos.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 4-7 pm on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by final committal services at Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson.
