Angelina C. Botelho, 89, of Hudson passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2016 at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Northboro. She was married to the love of her life, the late Joao Luis Botelho, for 57 years. Together they enjoyed a life full of happiness and always had a home full of love, food, family and friends.
Angelina was born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel Acores, the daughter of the late Manuel de Jesus Cabral and Margarida Avila (Sousa) Cabral. She immigrated to Hudson in July 1966. From 1966-1970 she worked at the Diamond Shoe Co, and then from 1970-1992 she was employed by Hudson Lock as an assembler. After her retirement in 1992, she loved spending time with her family, especially her loving grandchildren and adoring great-grandchildren, as well as tending to beautiful flowers in her garden for hours.
Angelina is survived by her two children, Maria Margarida Melo and Alfred L Botelho of Hudson; her grandchildren Margaret Melo Sullivan & husband Robert of Hudson, Dorothy Melo Forde & husband Anthony of Clinton, Matthew Botelho & wife Ashley of Clinton, and Ryan Botelho & girlfriend Yvonne Muturi of Stoughton; her great-grandchildren Robert & Christopher Sullivan, Samantha, Tiernan & Alexander Forde, and Jackson & Aubrey Botelho. She also leaves her sister Maria Evelina Cabral and many nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Manuel da Silva Melo and her siblings Mary Coute, Lauriana Botelho, Constantina Barrigas, Jose Cabral and Manuel Cabral.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 5th at 9:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning St. Hudson. Burial services will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Monday, April 4th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Angelina may be made to her parish of 50 years, St. Michael Church, 20 High Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
