Anthony J. DiPietro, 83, died on Monday, May 28th at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Irene (Correa) DiPietro of Hudson.
Anthony was born in Stow and raised in Hudson, son of the late Carmine and Rose (Rossetti) DiPietro. He was a self employed carpenter and owned and operated DiPietro Roofing Co. for many years until his retirement in 1990. Anthony enjoyed working with his hands and assisted his family and friends often with the construction or repair of many projects. He enjoyed watching movies, especially westerns and keeping his wood stove going during the cold seasons. Anthony always looked forward to spending time with his family, especially their frequent trips dining out at local restaurants. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, John DiPietro of Hudson, Tony DiPietro of Buffalo, NY, Paul DiPietro of Hudson and was the father of the late Irene Ames of Hudson. He is also survived by his sisters, Connie Marshall, Rose Pitsley, Barbara Piso, all of Stow, Ginger DiPietro of Connecticut, Helen Wright of Lunenburg, Evelyn DiPietro of Clinton; his many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Friday, June 1st from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. at the the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral mass on Friday, June 1st at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
