Antonio Figueiredo Resendes, 69, of Hudson, died on Sunday, March 22 at Marlboro Hospital. He was the beloved husband for 46 years to Helena (Pereira) Resendes who died in May of 2008.
Born in Santa Maria, the Azores, son of the late Jose and Maria Resendes, he resided in the Azores until moving to Hudson 37 years ago. He was employed at Korolath Corp. in Hudson for more than 10 years until retiring in 2002. Antonio looked forward to his trips back to the Azores and enjoyed fishing and watching soccer matches. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson. He will always be remembered and truly missed by his daughters, family and friends.
He is survived by his two daughters, Aida and Cindy Resendes of Hudson; two brothers, Jose and Manuel Resendes and his sister, Aldina Resendes, all of Santa Maria, Azores. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Jose Sousa; sister-in-law, Emilia Sousa and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 26 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 25, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
