Antonio J. Chaves-88, of Hudson, MA, died Monday, May 28, 2007, at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center in Marlborough.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Margarida C. (Martins) Chaves of Hudson.
Born in Hudson, MA, he was the son of the late Antonio and Rosa (Rocha) Chaves.
He worked for many years as a technician for the former Digital Equipment Company until he retired.
He was a member of St. Michaels Church and past president of the Holy Ghost Society. He was a life member and past president of the Hudson Portuguese Club and member of Our Lady of Fatima Society where he acted as the caretaker for the Our Lady of Fatima Shrine for some 46 years.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children; John Chaves of Hudson, MA and Joao Chaves of Brewster, MA. He is also survived by his 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, June 1, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church, 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Thursday, May 31 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
