Hudson, MA
Antonio M. Rego, 50, of Santa Maria, the Azores of Portugal, former longtime resident of Hudson, died unexpectedly on March 25th at his home in Santa Maria.
Antonio was born and raised in Santa Maria, son of the late Armando Rego and is survived by his mother, Maria (Monteiro) Rego of Hudson. He emigrated to Hudson from Portugal in 1972 and resided here until moving back to Santa Maria in 2006. He has worked as a laborer in construction for many years in both Hudson and Santa Maria. He was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his son, Anthony J. Rego of Hudson and his three brothers, Jose Rego of Hudson, Luis Rego and his wife Mellisa of New York and Paul Rego and his wife Emma of Marlboro. He was the brother of the late Maria Z. Oram and Nelia Rego. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends in both Hudson and Santa Maria.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, April 5th from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson.
