Antonio C. Terra

Antonio C. Terra, 83, of Shrewsbury, MA, former long time resident of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 28, 2021. He leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria Helena Leandres (Sousa) Terra.

Antonio was the son of the late Luis Conceicao and Amancia (Encarnacao) Terra, and was born on the island of Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal. He was raised in Vila do Porto and went on to become a master mason. Antonio met his beloved companion and built a beautiful family. He arrived in the United States in 1975, settling in Hudson, Massachusetts, until relocating to Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. He was a member of Hudson's Saint Michael's Parish.

Antonio is survived by his 11 children, Victor, Antonio, Delia, Noemia, Jose, Ivone, Paul, Duarte, Daniel, Linda, and predeceased by his youngest daughter Mary, as well as his 27 grandchildren who loved him and called him “Pai”, Kayline, Cassandra, Crystal, Cileena, Isaiah, Jarid, Carlos, Jonathan, Karly,  Mercedes, Brittany, Adrianna, Maximus, Katarina, Ariel, Xavier, Jake, Dylan, Alesandro, Jovanni, Briseis, Angelina, Daniella, Marina, Cristiana, Alia, Christian, and 7 great grandchildren; Nathan, Jordyana, Carlito, Noah, Mason, Giabella, Mia. He is also predeceased by brothers Luboino and Jose Pedro.

Antonio found solace by listening and singing along to Portuguese music. He also enjoyed keeping up with the daily news in Portugal. Every summer, he looked forward to returning to his childhood home in Vila de Porto. Antonio loved his family unconditionally and will be remembered for his kindness and warm smile. He will be truly missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held on Monday November 1, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M.  at the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 11:00 am in Saint Michael’s Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson, MA. Burial will immediately follow in Saint Michael’ Cemetery, Cox Street, Hudson, MA.
