Arleen B. (Brownlee) Bemis, 101, of Hudson, MA died Thursday, Feb. 25th at Wingate at Sudbury in Sudbury, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin C. Bemis.
She was born in Walpole, NH, daughter of the late William J. and Blanch (MacPherson) Brownlee. Arleen attended Middlebury College and Boston University and received her degree in teaching from Castleton Teacher's College in Vermont. She was a member of the Vermont Retired Teacher's Association and member of the Trinity Congregational Church in Bolton.
Arleen was predeceased by her son, Robert C. Bemis of Windham, NH and is survived by her grandchildren, Peter S. Bemis of Southboro, MA and Donna E. Bemis of Sandown, NH. She is also survived by her brother, Max Underwood of Bedford, MA and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Norman R. Underwood.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 6th at 11:00 a.m. at the Trinity Congregational Church, 14 Wattaquadock Road, Bolton, MA. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
