Barbara A. (Bisset) Courtemanche, 94, of Boylston, MA, formerly of Hudson, MA, passed on Thursday, May 30, 2024. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard M. Courtemanche.

Barbara was born in Dorchester, MA, on June 24, 1929, to her late parents Alexander Bisset, Sr. and Virginia (Bonnazzoli).

Barbara is survived by her daughter Kathryn Falcucci and her partner David Canty of Boylston, MA; her brothers John Bisset and his wife Madeline of NH, Mickey Bisset and his wife Jackie of Chelmsford, MA, and William Bisset and his wife Christine of FL; her grandchildren David Falcucci and his wife Danielle of Grafton, MA, Daniel Falcucci and his wife Julie of Auburn, MA, and Brian Falcucci and his wife Jacquie of Maynard, MA; her great-grandchildren Hazel and Hope of Grafton, MA, Elizabeth Geldart and her husband Brandyn, Gavin Cedrone, Jonathan and Robert Falcucci of Auburn, MA, Caroline, Ariella and Isabella of Maynard, MA; her great-great-grandchildren Aiden and Madelyn of Auburn, MA; as well as other relatives and friends. She is predeceased by her parents Alexander and Virginia, her brother Robert Bisset, and her son Kenneth R. Courtemanche.

A lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, Barbara was the valedictorian of her graduating class at Hudson High School. After graduating, Barbara focused on raising her children, and caring for their family home. When her children reached their teenage years, Barbara began a long career as a reporter for the Hudson Sun, and later for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, until her retirement in the early 1990’s. She also volunteered her time regularly to helping with the elections in Hudson. Barbara was a devout Catholic, and a faithful parishioner at Saint Michael Parish in Hudson, MA. 

Barbara loved spending summers at North Beach in Hampton Beach, NH. She was an avid card player, and a steadfast fan of the Boston Red Sox.

Services for Barbara will be held privately, under the direction of Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home.

Donations may be made in Barbara’s memory to Faith and Family Hospice (www.hospicefamily.com) for their care and support in Barbara’s final days.
