Barbara Wilkins, 97, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 7, 2018, at Coleman House in Northborough, Ma.
She was born on March 6, 1921, as the daughter to Theodore Francis and Emily Lilian Wilkins. Barbara graduated from Hudson High School in 1939.
Barbara proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1942 until 1946, with the distinguished entitlement as a U.S. Army “Captain”.
Barbara graduated from Radcliffe College, following the service. Following College, Barbara went on to work for 31 years at Mass Electric. She was a member of First Federated Church, a Red Cross volunteer and Sudbury Valley Trustees volunteer.
She is predeceased by her brother, Henry Wilkins, sisters Ann Puro and Elizabeth Grandy.
She is survived by six loving nephews and nieces along with their spouses; nephew Jamie Wilkins and spouse Janice of Hudson, MA, niece Lynne Kavanagh of Charleston, S.C., nephew Jeffrey Wilkins of Piketon, OH, niece Sandra Ryan and spouse George of Warren, RI, niece Caroline O’Neil and spouse Jim of Philmont, NY and nephew Christopher Grandy and spouse Rose of Wheaton, IL.
A funeral service will be held at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA, on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11 a.m., followed by a graveside burial at Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
