Calvin W. Moore Sr., 85, of Hudson, died on Friday, Sept. 9th at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Marlboro. He leaves his wife of 64 years, Margaret (Osgood) Moore of Hudson.
Mr. Moore was born and raised in Vanceboro, ME, son of the late Marvin W. and Bertha (Beers) Moore. He attended local schools there and graduated from Vanceboro High School. He has resided in Hudson since 1956 and was employed as a machinist by the former Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard for many years until his retirement. Prior to Digital, he was employed as a machinist by the former LaPointe's Machine Shop in Hudson. He enjoyed wood working and gardening as hobbies in his spare time. He was a member of New Hope Chapel in Westboro.
Besides his wife he is survived by his five children, Paul E. Moore of Lewiston, ME, Sheila V. Fowler and her husband David of Needham, MA, Beth S. Salois and her husband Stephen of Winthrop, ME, Marvin D. Moore and his wife Cathy of Hubbardston, MA and Calvin W. Moore Jr. and his wife Beverly of Harwinton, CT. He was predeceased by his son, Randolph G. Moore of Bridgeton, ME in 1997 and also his four sisters. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The Rev. Stephen P. Misarski will celebrate a funeral service on Wednesday, Sept. 14th at 11:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Tuesday, Sept. 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
