Camillo R. "Rocky" De Arcangelis, of Hudson died Wednesday, Aug. 13 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston from injuries he sustained after being struck by a motor vehicle in Hudson. He was the beloved husband for 61 years to Dorothy M. (Callahan) De Arcangelis of Hudson.
He was born in Marlboro, son of the late Sabatino R. and Amelia (Marini) De Arcangelis and was a lifetime resident of Hudson. He attended local schools and was a 1935 graduate of Hudson H.S. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as a mechanic by the former Hellen's Transportation Co. in Hudson and later was employed by the U.S. Post Office in Framingham as head mechanic in their vehicle maintenance garage. He was a member of the Hudson V.F.W. and Saint Michael's Parish of Hudson. He enjoyed gardening, reading and was an avid walker.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, David De Arcangelis and wife Jane of Marlboro, Susan De Arcangelis of Rutland, Maureen Perry and husband Robert of Shrewsbury and Paul De Arcangelis and wife Cindy of Hudson. He was predeceased by his son Michael De Arcangelis in 2004 and survived by Michael's wife, Sonny De Arcangelis of Cotuit. He is also survived by his sister, Gloria Corrinne of Boynton Beach, FL; 10 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren and the many people whose lives he touched.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 18 at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Sunday, Aug. 17 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749
