Carol E. (Hovey) Wilkins

Carol E. (Hovey) Wilkins, 87, passed away on August 6, 2020, after a long illness. Carol, daughter of Lyman S. and Barbara (Lamson) Hovey, was a lifelong resident of Hudson, Massachusetts. She married Roger A. Wilkins on June 1, 1957. Carol is survived by her husband Roger, her daughters Karen, Linda (Matt), and Nancy (Jeff), and her grandsons James and Danny Breen, as well as her brother Robert (Bobbe), and several in-laws, nieces and nephews. Carol was predeceased by her brother, Richard and her sister, Elizabeth Hovey Satas.

Carol was a dedicated worker, first with the Town of Hudson and later as a longtime employee of Raytheon Technologies, where she took pride in contributing to U.S. projects including Apollo and Gulf War systems. In her retirement, Carol served by working at numerous Town of Hudson elections.

Carol’s joy and zest for life flowed to and from her family, and she took great pride in the accomplishments and adventures of her children and grandchildren. She was the loving center of her family, and enjoyed bringing people together for abundant feasts. Carol took pleasure in gardening, sewing, and crafts, and followed her grandsons’ Little League careers as passionately as she did Boston’s professional sports teams. She loved to travel, enjoying family camping trips, cruises, group bus trips, and exploring new areas. Carol had a rare gift for finding joy in even the smallest things, and was always on the lookout for new curiosities and future adventures.

Due to the current pandemic, a socially-distanced service will be held graveside at Forestvale Cemetery on Broad Street in Hudson, Massachusetts on Monday, August 17th at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held at a future date.
