Catherine M. (Demetri) Aiello, 88, of Hudson, formerly of Brighton and Gloucester, passed away on Tuesday September 19, 2017 with her loving family at her side at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center in Marlborough. She predeceased by her husband Joseph in 2016.
She is survived by her four children, Carla Manzo and her husband Patrick of Hudson, John Aiello and his wife Vilma of Derry, NH, Marie Lewis and her husband Howard of Townsend and Joseph S. Aiello and his wife Mary of Roslindale. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Patrick Manzo, Catherine Manzo-Moore and Anthony Manzo and his wife Laurinda, all of Hudson, Jill Richards and Michael Lewis and his wife Sharon, all of Leominster, Lisa Aiello of Londonderry, NH, Joseph Aiello and his wife Sophia of West Newton, Karyn Aiello and Johnathan Aiello both of Roslindale; her sisters, Virginia Parisi and Lillian Caciali and her husband Anthony; her sisier-in-law, Rose Demetri, her sister-in-laws, Annette Kennedy, Grace Favazza and her husband Joseph, Joanne Aiello, Marie Linquata and her companion Joseph Polizzia, Rose Aiello and Fellicia Aiello; and her brother-in-law, John Aiello; many great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her husband Joseph Aiello, she was also predeceased by her parents Contidino and Catherine (Sabela) Demetri and her siblings, Augustus Demetri, Frances Singatra and her husband Joseph, Vita Satin and her husband Dominic, Josephine Santuccio and her husband Salvatore, Norfie Demetri and his wife Sadie, Jenny Palazzola and her husband Frank, Lucy Bertalino and her husband James, Fanny Pato and her husband James, Augustus Demetri and his wife Frances, Sammy Demetri and her brother-in-law Charles Parisi.
Catherine was born in Gloucester, where she was raised, attended school and resided until the she married the love of her life Joseph in 1948. Catherine and Joseph moved to Boston where they raised their family and resided until moving to Hudson in 2006. Catherine worked as a meat packer for Morris & Schiff in Brighton for many years.
Catherine was a talented seamstress and she enjoyed sewing, painting and putting together crafts. She also enjoyed going on vacations to Florida with Joseph, where she always talked about living someday.
Calling hours will be held from 4-7pm on Friday, September 22, 2017 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA and 9-10 am on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at St. Ann’s Church, 74 Pleasant St., Gloucester, MA; followed by A Celebration Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in the church.
