Catherine "Chick" F. (Gately) Tagliani

Catherine “Chick” F. (Gately) Tagliani, 75, of Hudson, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at the Coleman House in Northborough, surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health.  She leaves her beloved husband of 56 years, Louis E. Tagliani.

Cathy was born in Boston, MA, on February 5, 1944, one of 10 children of the late, John F. and Catherine (Hession) Gately. She was raised in Dorchester and graduated high school from Boston Girls High School in the class of 1962. One year later she married the love of her life Louis E. Tagliani and together they embarked on a 56-year journey of love and happiness. Cathy and Lou moved to Bolton, MA in 1975, where they raised their two sons and taught them the hard work ethic of growing their own food and caring for four acres of land. They later moved to Westborough, where they lived for several more years before eventually settling in Hudson for the past 14 years. Cathy wore many hats in the family, as a dedicated and loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and also as the office manager in their family consulting business. Throughout her life she was always devout to her Catholic faith and was a longtime parishioner at Saint Michael Parish in Hudson.

Cathy was an avid reader of mystery novels and was a member of her local book club for over 30 years. She also enjoyed working on needle point and was a talented baker.

In addition to her husband Louis E. Tagliani, she was also survived by her two loving sons, Jonathan M. Tagliani and his wife Cecile of Beverly, and Matthew R. Tagliani and his wife Natividad of Brighton, England; one sister, Gertrude E. Gately of Wrentham, MA; 6 grandchildren, Alexander, Emilia, Luca, Sofia, Cosmo and Aldo Tagliani, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by 8 siblings, Fred, Thomas, Robert, Edward, Joseph, Paul, and Francis Gately, and Claire Matthews.

Calling hours will be held from 4 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, December 12, 2019 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St. Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am on Friday, December 13, 2019 at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by interment in Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson.
