Charles J. "Charlie" Karvoski, 73, a life long resident of Hudson, died Saturday, Feb. 25th at Marlboro Hospital. He is survived by his companion of 20 years and wife of 10 years, Patricia (Sharon) Karvoski of Hudson.
Charlie was born in Clinton, son of the late Felix and Agnes M. (Martin) Karvoski. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools and was a 1956 graduate of Hudson High School. He served in the U.S. Army for a short time and was employed by the Raytheon Co. in Waltham for many years until his retirement. Charlie enjoyed golfing and 10 pin bowling, he was a member of the Raytheon Golf League and spent many years as a member of the former Maple Lanes of Marlboro Bowling League. He was a pitcher in the Hudson Men's Softball League for many years and member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his two children, Kevin Karvoski and his wife Noel of Connecticut, Debra Fredette and her husband Michael of Palmer; his two stepsons, Scott Porter and his wife Diana of Hudson, Craig Porter and his wife Venis of Hawaii and his brother Philip Karvoski and his companion, Paula Poppy of Hudson. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, two great grandchildren and his three nieces.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 3rd at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 2nd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com).
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Charlie may be made to: Marlborough Hospital, Oncology Dept., C/O Ellen Carlucci, Development Office, 157 Union Street, Marlborough, MA 01752.
