Charles H. Pitard Sr., 75, of Berlin, died on Wednesday, June 25th at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus in Worcester. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary (Perkins) Pitard.
Charles was born in Worcester, son of the late Henry and Beatrice (Gagne) Pitard. He was raised in Hudson where he attended local schools and was a 1957 graduate of Hudson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy following high school and has resided in Berlin since 1970. Charles worked for many years as a delivery driver for Meola's Dairy in West Boylston. He was a member of Saint Joseph's Parish in Berlin.
He is survived by his four sons, Charles Pitard Jr. of Berlin, Michael Pitard of Berlin, Stephen Pitard of New Bedford and Paul Pitard of Marlboro. He is also survived by his two brothers, Leonard Pitard of Framingham, Albert Pitard of Marlboro; his 9 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ernest Pitard, Dorothy Hinckley and Laurette Chiaravalloti.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, June 28th at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Josephs the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street (Rt. 62), Berlin. Burial will follow in North Cemetery, Berlin. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Friday, June 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
