Charles L. Wilkins, peacefully passed away on November 10, 2023, at Rose Monahan Hospice in Worcester, MA. He was surrounded by his family during his final moments. Born on January 11, 1929, in his hometown of Hudson, MA, Charlie lived a life filled with love, laughter, and hard work.
Charlie dedicated much of his life to his career at Carter Manufacturing where he tirelessly worked. His commitment to his job was unwavering, and he took great pride in all that he accomplished. Charlie's strong work ethic served as an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of working alongside him.
Outside of work, Charlie found joy in spending time with his family. He cherished every moment shared with them and held a special place in his heart for family gatherings during the holidays. Nothing brought him more happiness than seeing the smiles on their faces and creating lasting memories together.
During his free time, Charlie enjoyed various hobbies and interests that brought him immense pleasure. He loved the exhilaration of motorcycle riding and felt a deep connection to nature while fishing alongside his late brothers. The peacefulness of the beach always drew him in, providing solace from the busyness of everyday life. As a lifelong Red Sox and Patriots fan, he celebrated many victories alongside fellow enthusiasts and reveled in the passion for sports that united them all. Additionally, Charlie shared memorable hunting expeditions with his dear friend Ivan.
In 2018, Charlie experienced profound loss when his beloved wife Hope Wilkins passed away. Theirs was a love story for the ages, and Charlie carried her memory in his heart every day. He found strength and solace in the love they shared and the memories they created together.
Charlie is survived by his two sons, Steven Wilkins and his fiancé Karen Letendre of Marlborough, MA, and Chuck Wilkins and his wife Lisa of Melrose, MA. His four grandchildren, Andrew of Las Vegas, NV, Katherine of New York, Justin of Sherman Oaks, CA, and Matthew of Burlington, VT will forever cherish their memories with their adoring grandfather. Charlie also leaves behind his sister-in-law Connie Wilkins (Adrian's Wife) of Amherst, MA along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
In addition to Hope, Charlie was preceded in death by his brothers Warren, Edward, Adrian, and Roger Wilkins. He was also predeceased by his sisters Marjorie Popieniuck and Linda Siebold.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on November 15, 2023. The visitation will be held at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home located at 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. It will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude at 12:00 PM.
Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location. Starting at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on November 15th. Friends and loved ones are welcome to attend as we honor and celebrate Charlie's richly lived life.
