Chester J. Wolik, 85, passed away unexpectedly at home on Saturday, March 4, 2017. Born and raised in Maynard he was the son of the late Frank and Dorothy (Macora) Wolik and lived in Hudson several years before settling in Connecticut many years ago.
Chester is survived by his brother, Henry J. Wolik and his wife, Marie of Shrewsbury; his sister-in-law, Virginia Wolik of Guilford, CT; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Chester was very active in his Condo Community and was an influential member of their Board of Directors. He was a Sgt in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict, serving with Headquarters 2nd Engineer Battalion 2nd Marine Division. He was a night area manager for General Dynamics Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut for 33 years, retiring in 1996.
Chester enjoyed living a remarkable life full of interesting experiences. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a charismatic conversationalist who always had one more story to tell. He had an endless capacity for giving, and will be missed and remembered by his family, coworkers, neighbors, and friends to whom he always extended a helping hand.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, March 10th from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. in the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 9:00 a.m. in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will be at Forestvale Cemetery.
