Claude G. Bourque, 90, of Hudson, died on Saturday, July 6th at Beaumont Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Westboro. He was the loving husband of the late Eileen (Kennedy) Bourque for 36 years until her death in 1982.
Claude was born and raised in Worcester, son of the late Hercules and Alvine (Pettigrew) Bourque. He attended local schools and was a WWII Veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a pilot. Claude was a machinist for many years with the former Lombard Governor Co. in Ashland and later the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard until his retirement in 1990. Besides being a loving father, he was an avid tennis player. He was a member of the Riverside Tennis Club and Charles River Tennis Club. He always looked forward to spending time at the family cottage in Dennis during the summer months.
He is survived by his daughter, Maureen Connor of Hudson; his son, Michael Bourque and his wife Patricia of LaPorte, TX; his sister, Madeline Thetford of Texas and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Edmond Bourque who died in Nov. of 2012.
A funeral service and celebration of Claude's life will be held on Thursday, July 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11th prior to the service at the funeral home.
