Constance D. "Connie" (Patterson) Richards, 83, of Bolton, died peacefully in her home on Monday, Aug. 10th following a brief illness. Connie was the wife of the late Warren H. Richards who died in 1992.
Born in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, the daughter of the late Gordon Patterson and Margaret (Lyon) Patterson Ross, she moved to Bolton in 1945 and resided here for the past 64 years.
Connie was employed by GenRad, Inc., in Concord for many years until her retirement in 1986. She and her husband were among the founding members of Saint Francis Xavier Church in Bolton and worked tirelessly to build and support the parish. In addition, she was an active member with the Bolton Senior Citizens group for many years while publishing and distributing the Senior newsletter.
She is survived by her daughter, Jayne Richards of Bolton; her son, Peter Richards and his wife Mary of Leominster and her three grandchildren, Jillian, Jonathan and Jared Richards, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her sister, Dorothy McAvene and her brother, Otty Patterson, both late of Hudson.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 14th at 11:30 a.m. at the Saint Francis Xavier Church, 808 Main Street, Bolton. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Bolton. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 13th, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central St. Hudson, MA 01749.
