Dane T. Burk, 49, of Clinton, died on Wednesday, Oct. 1st at his residence surrounded by his loving family and friends. He leaves his beloved wife of 24 years, Loyda S. (Santana) Burk and their four children, Madeline Santana Burk, Hunter Stone Burk, Elijah Steel Burk and Mollie Rose Burk, all of Clinton.
Dane was born in Clinton, Missouri, and is survived by his parents, Barbara (Huff) Burk of Lebanon, Tennessee and William "Bill" Burk of Gainsville, Florida. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Veteran of the Lebanon and Grenada Conflicts until being honorably discharged from active duty in 1986. He resided in Florida prior to moving to Clinton 11 years ago. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Hudson and served as the Youth Pastor at the Church. Dane was not only a fan but also enjoyed being actively involved in his children's sports programs. He served as the President and Coach of the Clinton Youth Soccer Program and also served as President of the Clinton Youth Basketball Program. He was an avid fan of World Cup Soccer which he always looked forward to watching.
Dane's passion was helping others through his ministry. In his spare time, he enjoyed attending his children's sporting events and also was a history buff, especially relating to WWII. He was a devoted husband, loving father and a true friend to so many. He will be truly missed by all.
Besides his wife, parents and children, Dane is survived by his three sisters, Angela Smith of Georgia, April Burk Clark of Florida, Eva Burk of Florida and his many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service and celebration of Dane's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4th at 11:00 a.m. in the Grace Baptist Church, 353 River Road, Hudson. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, Oct. 3rd from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Grace Baptist Church.
