Daniel E. Jenkins, 84, of Berlin, , died on Wednesday, Aug. 21st at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dolores C. (Mills) Jenkins of Berlin.
Daniel was born and raised in Hudson, son of the late James and Hilda (Dobson) Jenkins. He attended local schools and was a 1947 graduate of Hudson High School. He was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U.S. Army until being honorably discharged in November of 1952. Daniel worked for many years as a Union Mason with Local 51 of Framingham. He was a life member of the Hudson V.F.W. Post 1027 and member of the Hudson Elks.
Daniel enjoyed traveling to Florida and spending time at Disney World. He always looked forward to the many vacation trips to Ogunquit, ME with family and friends and was an avid gardener. He cherished the times he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and will be missed by all.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his five sons, Daniel J. Jenkins and his wife Lorraine of Hudson, David Jenkins and his wife Jane of Hudson, Raymond Jenkins and his wife Jane of Berlin, Michael Jenkins of Berlin and Stephen Jenkins and his wife Rachelle of Oxford. He is also survived by his brother, William Jenkins of East Brookfield; his 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Rodney and James Jenkins.
A funeral service and celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24th at 10:00 a.m. in the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Aug. 23rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
