Darlene L. (Thurber) McLaughlin, 65 of Sudbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2017, at Sudbury Pines Extended Care Facility. She joins her husband John McLaughlin who predeceased her.
Darlene was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Warren and Nellie (Savoy) Thurber. Darlene was raised in Hudson, graduating in the Hudson High School class of 1970 and lived in town most of her life. She worked as a housekeeper for many years before she eventually retired.
Darlene was a fun loving and free spirit, whose infectious sense of humor kept those around her smiling, laughing and always entertained. She especially enjoyed spending the weekends with her daughters, going on excursions to arts and craft fairs, antique shows and the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston to enjoy a virgin Pina Colada. Amongst her many hobbies and talents, she enjoyed baking, knitting and sewing. Darlene was a beautiful person both inside and out and there was never a dull moment with her. She will be forever missed by those that knew her.
Amongst her many heartbroken survivors, she leaves behind her to beloved daughters, Kerry McDonald of Marlborough and Jennifer Serino of Newport, RI; two grandchildren, Anthony and Jenna Serino and her dear friend Ibett Aponte. In addition to her husband John and her parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Ronnie Thurber.
All services for Darlene will be held privately at a later time. TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL is honored to be assisting with her arrangements.
