HUDSON

David Paul Houde, 66, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 14, 2017 after a long struggle with Huntington's disease. He was born in Worcester, the son of Lionel and Anna (Papagno) Houde. David attended Hudson Public Schools and graduated from Hudson High class of 1969.

He leaves his loving wife of 43 years, Jane E. (Porrazzo) Houde; two sons, Ryan Houde and Timothy Houde and his girlfriend, Jackie Adams, all of Hudson; two brothers, James Houde of Hudson and Albert Houde of Villages, FL; his grandson, Logan; and his "like a son", Michael McCormack and his family, Rachel and Sadie Mae. He was predeceased by his sister, Debra Houde.

David owned and operated the Bolton Country Cupboard and the Lake Boon General Store, as well as several other successful businesses before retiring due to illness. He coached Hudson Youth Baseball for many years and was a member of the Marlboro Country Club where he enjoyed playing in leagues with friends.

David loved his family and enjoyed spending summers at the family home on Drakes Island in Maine, and winters in Villages, Florida. He was a member of St. Michael's Church.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 18th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson. Funeral services for David will be held on Wednesday, April 19th from the funeral home with a 9:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 Eighth Ave., Suite 902, New York, NY 10018, or a charity of one's choice.
