Berlin, MA
David J. Knorr, 60, a lifelong resident of Berlin, died unexpectedly at his residence on Tuesday, May 26th.
David was born in Marlboro, son of Gordon C. Knorr of Berlin and the late Evelyn B. (Spaulding) Knorr. He was raised in Berlin where he attended local schools and was a graduate of Tahanto Regional High School. He served in the U.S. Navy following high school until being honorably discharged. He was currently employed in the maintenance department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute of Worcester and prior to that he spent many years as a self-employed general contractor locally.
David was well known for his keen sense of humor and his love for animals, including his beloved dog Russell. He enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including his favorite past time fishing. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
Besides his father, he is survived by his two sisters, Deborah Deasy of Arizona and Donna J. Turpin and her husband Ralph of New Hampshire. He also leaves his longtime companion and friend, Mary Kingston of Hudson; his two nephews, Mark Deasy and Kevin Deasy and his wife Priscilla, all of Arizona; his four great nephews, Joseph, Jonathan, Charles and Theodore along with his other relatives and friends.
A memorial service and celebration of David's life will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 10:00 a.m. in the First Parish Church of Berlin, 24 Central Street, Berlin. Burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family in South Cemetery, Berlin.
