David P. "Lefty" LaPointe, 65, of Hudson, formerly of Maynard, died Thursday, April 29 at Westboro Health Care Center. He leaves his wife of 23 Years, Linda S. (Peterson) LaPointe of Hudson.
David was born in Concord, son of the late Peter and Dorothy (Hopkins) LaPointe and was raised in Maynard where he resided until moving to Hudson in 1977. He was a graduate of Maynard High School and was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for many years by the Digital Equipment Corp. in Maynard and most recently employed by the Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord as an accounting clerk for ten years until retiring in 2005.
David was an avid pool player, bowler and enjoyed the many years he spent playing softball. He was a 30 year member of the Concord Elks.
Besides his wife, he leaves his children, Michelle LaPointe of Hudson, Kim Mussomele of Virginia and Peter LaPointe of Hudson. He is also survived by his sister, Carol Reames of North Carolina; his two brothers, Peter LaPointe of Texas and Alvin LaPointe of North Carolina; his five grandchildren, Mackenzie, McKayla, Sydney, Madison and Joey and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Sharon Dodge and Paul LaPointe.
A funeral service will be held on Monday May 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. A calling hour will be held on Monday, May 3rd from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
