David A. McCarthy, 47, of Marlboro, formerly of Hudson, died suddenly on Sunday, April 19 at his residence. He leaves his son, Joshua McCarthy and longtime companion of 20 years, Laureen Collins, both of Marlboro.
Born in Concord, son of the late William McCarthy who died in 1989 and survived by his mother Mildred (Mauro) Crue, wife of James Crue of Hudson, he resided in Hudson most of his life and was a 1980 graduate of Hudson H.S. He was employed as a carpenter by Crue Construction Co. of Hudson. David was an avid sportsman and especially enjoyed playing golf, pool and fishing. He was a member of the Hudson Eagle's, Marlboro Moose Lodge and Marlboro V.F.W.
Besides his son, companion and mother, he is survived by his sister Nanette Russello of Greenfield and two brothers, William McCarthy of Hudson and Jerry McCarthy of Maynard. He is also survived by his two step-brothers, Jason Crue and Matthew Crue, both of Worcester; step-sister Caryn Happy of Sterling and also leaves his Aunts, Uncles, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be celebrated on Thursday, April 23 at 9:00 a.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson. Family and friends may attend calling hours on Wednesday, April 22 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
