David Samuel Morgan, 80, of Hudson, died at his residence on Saturday, Jan. 29th. He leaves his wife of 57 years, Rachel V. (Ouellette) Morgan of Hudson.
He was born in Vergennes, Vermont, son of the late Melvin F. and Ruth E. (Stebbins) Morgan and was raised in Shrewsbury where he attended local schools and was a 1948 graduate of Shrewsbury High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Morgan was employed for 50 plus years as an auditor and later as an office manager in the Lexington office of the MetLife Insurance Co. until his retirement. He resided in Marlboro for a short time before moving to Hudson in 1962.
Mr. Morgan was an avid bowler, enjoyed reading and looked forward to the many short trips he and his wife shared with friends.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three children, Bruce Morgan and his wife Lori of Holden, James Morgan of Meyersville, Pennsylvania and Sally Morgan of Hudson. He is also survived by his two sisters, Anne Arey of Maryland, Ruth Johnson of Marion; his brother, Charles Morgan of Norwell; six grandchildren, Amy, Craig, Ryan and Ethan Morgan, David Fenton, Olivia Tobey; one great grandson, Matthew Morgan and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Melvin Morgan and Barbara Achorn.
A calling hour will be held on Sunday, Feb. 6th from 11: 00 a.m. to 12:00 noon followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at the: Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial is to be held at the convenience of the family.
