Deborah was born in Cambridge, MA, daughter of the late Franklin and Ruth (Stanchfield) Dalrymple. She was raised in Lexington, MA attending local schools and was a graduate of Lexington High School. Following high school she attended North Shore Hospital Nursing Program and graduated with her Licensed Practical Nursing degree. She spent 28 years as an LPN at Emerson Hospital in Concord, MA and then went to work with Dr. E. Jose at his Hudson Medical Practice office. She retired after spending 5 years with Dr. Jose. She was a former member of the Hancock Congregational Church in Lexington, MA. during her early years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her sister Susan Griffith and her husband Lanny of Candia, NH and her brother Peter Dalrymple and his wife Monica Dumouchel of Bedford, NH. She also leaves cousins, Bonnie Dalrymple of ME, Doug Dalrymple of MA, Dorothy Anderson of CA, and Marsha Coho of PA and one niece Martha Dalrymple of NH.
Deborah was very dedicated to her occupation as a nurse throughout her career. She loved caring for her patients and was remembered fondly by many of them. She cherished her husband David and always looked forward to the special times they spent together. Deborah and David both enjoyed camping and took many trips to the mountains in New Hampshire and the Maine coastline. They especially enjoyed camping at Conway Lake in Conway, NH where they grew to appreciate the beauty of the local Loons and their nightly and early morning calls.
Some of Deb’s favorite pastimes were bird watching, gardening, tending her perennial gardens, baking, antiquing and adding to her various collections of antique kitchen tools, old apothecary items, and miniature birds. She was a great cook and was known for her cheesecake and many other dishes. She loved spending time with family and hosting the family especially on holidays but her favorite holiday of all was Christmas. She also loved being a “mom” to the “kitties” that they adopted and cared for with love throughout the years.
She was a sweet, kind soul and will be missed tremendously by her family and those who knew and loved her, but she will never be forgotten
Deborah’s family will be planning a Celebration of Deborah’s life in New Hampshire in the coming weeks, with interment in Lexington MA later in the summer.
