Deolinda C. Chaves, 78, of Hudson, died Wednesday, Aug. 15th at Kindred Transitional Care in Marlboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Chaves who died in 2000.
Deolinda was born and raised in Santa Maria, the Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Batista) Chaves. She has resided in Hudson the past 40 plus years and worked for the Hudson Lock Co. for many years until her retirement. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her three children, Victor Chaves, Jose Chaves and his wife Isabelle and Aida Chaves, all of Hudson. She is also survived by her two sisters, Helena Cordeiro of Hudson, Margaret Lima of Canada; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Aug. 17th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Aug. 16th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
