Dolores C. Jenkins

We mourn the passing of Dolores C. Jenkins, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. The loving and feisty matriarch of a large family, she will be missed by all. 

The daughter of the late Dennis and Blanche Mills (Reardon), Dolores was born and raised in Clinton, MA. One of eleven children, she attended area schools with her nine sisters and one brother. She joined the workforce at 17. She served as a waitress at The Meadows, a renowned nightclub in Framingham owned by the famous American singer Vaughn Monroe. She later became a Certified Nursing Assistant, beginning a decades long career caring for others. She married her husband Daniel Jenkins, a Korean War Veteran, in 1952 at a small ceremony in Clinton.

Dolores enjoyed travel including many vacation trips to Ogunquit, ME with her husband, yearly family trips to Hampton Beach, NH, and the occasional drive to Foxwoods, CT. She cherished the times spent with her many grandchildren and enjoyed the Jenkins Family’s then annual Labor Day weekend clambake and cookout. She loved conversation, visitors, as well as her large Sunday dinners where all family members had a standing invitation.

She is survived by her five sons, Daniel J. Jenkins and his wife Lorraine of Hudson, David Jenkins and his wife Jane of Hudson, Raymond Jenkins and his wife Jane of Berlin, Michael Jenkins of Berlin, and Stephen Jenkins and his wife Rachelle of Wells, Maine. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. She was the last of her surviving siblings.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in the Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 (www.tighehamilton.com). A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 11:30am, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home; followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA for Committal Services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dolores may be made to the UMASS Cancer Center.
