Donald Taranto

Donald Taranto, 67, longtime resident of Stow, MA, passed away on Sunday, September 29, 2024 at his home.

Donald was born and raised in Concord, MA son of Richard Taranto of Westminster, MA and the late Betty Ann (Hume) Taranto. He attended local schools and was a 1975 graduate of Nashoba Regional High School. He moved to Stow, MA in 1972 along with his family and owned and operated D & D Farms in Stow until most recently. 

Besides his father, Donald is survived by his son, Brian Taranto and his wife Brooke of Lancaster, MA; his daughter, Michelle Gomez of Barnstable, MA; his brother Richard Taranto of Stow, MA and twin brother Daniel Taranto of Montana. He also leaves his 2 sisters Lori Duffy and Mary Taranto; 5 grandchildren and his other relatives and close friends. He was predeceased by his son David Taranto in 2022. 

Donald spent most of his life working diligently in the family business. He was very devoted to his family and always kept their interests before his own. He did however enjoy getting away to hunt, especially on a large area of property in Unity, ME he owned. Many of his family and friends benefited from his talent at designing and painting gas tanks and tour packs on their Harley Davidson Motorcycles. Building and racing muscle cars was another passion of Donald. He always looked forward to racing the quarter mile at the raceway in Epping, NH. Donald will forever be remembered as a kind and gentle man with a heart of gold, “The Need For Speed” and his fearless approach to life and all it’s journeys. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 12:00pm to 3:00pm on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
