Doris Rose (Garceau) Bombard, 79, of Berlin, died on Friday, November 20th at UMASS Memorial Healthcare, University Campus in Worcester. She leaves her husband of 58 years Alfred Bombard of Berlin.
Doris was born and raised in Marlboro, daughter of the late William H. and Rose A. Garceau and was a graduate of Marlboro High School. She moved to Berlin in 1959 and became a very active member and volunteer at Saint Joseph's the Good Provider Parish in Berlin. She was a member of the Berlin Senior Citizens Center and also a member of the Evening Guild for many years in Berlin. Doris also donated a great deal of her time to the Meals on Wheels program in Berlin.
Besides her husband, she leaves her three children, Kathleen Caves and her husband Douglas of Fitchburg, Nancy Bombard of Worcester and Susan Kuniewich of Berlin. She is also survived by her brother Richard Garceau of Berlin; five Grandchildren and three Great Grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Nov. 24th at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Joseph the Good Provider Church, 52 West Street, Berlin. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours will be held on Monday, Nov. 23rd, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
