Doris L. (Campbell) Williams

November 25, 1927 — September 7, 2019

Bolton

Doris L. (Campbell) Williams, 91, a longtime Bolton resident, passed away, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, MA, after a period of declining health. She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Joseph F. Williams.

Doris was born on November 25, 1927, one of nine children to the late Carl A. and Margret E. (Carvill) Campbell. She spent her early childhood in Stow, before moving with her family to Bolton, where she has resided for the past 80 years. She attended Hudson High School and was a pioneer for women’s liberation as one of the first women school bus drivers of her time for Bolton Public Schools. Throughout the years she always helped support her family with various jobs, working at Derby Orchards and The Cracker Barrell General Store in Bolton during the 60’s.

Doris was a longtime member of the Ladies Auxiliary in Bolton, the Bolton Seniors and the Bolton First Federated Church.  She loved the outdoors and through the years enjoyed camping, boating and spending time with her family.

In addition to her husband Joseph F. Williams, she is also survived by her two daughters, Ronda M. Gressman of Jupiter, FL and Jo Ann Normandin and her husband Chauncey of Naples, FL; her son Robert S. Williams and his wife Sheryl of Milford, NH; a brother, Laurence Campbell and his wife Theresa of VT; her grandchildren, Jodi Giese and her husband Mark, Sara Trnka, Jessica Olsen and her husband Daniel, Jamie Moran and her husband Charlie, John “JP” Drinkwater, Sean Normandin and his wife Jennifer and Celine Morwell and her husband Matthew; her great-grandchildren Gavin, Hayden, Kiera, Sela, Naya, Cody, Christopher and Cara and many nieces and nephews. She is at rest with her 7 siblings and her grandson Ryan.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11 am on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at West Burying Grounds on Green Road in Bolton.
