Dorothy M. (Bronder) Bahl, 94, of Hudson, former longtime resident of Pittsburgh, PA, died on Wednesday, Jan. 11th at St. Camillus Health Center in Whitinsville surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of 68 years to the late Arthur R. Bahl who died in 2010.
Dorothy was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, daughter of the late Michael and Theresa (Klaus) Bonder. She spent many years as a bookkeeper for the Pittsburgh Sports Shop and cherished the moments she had raising her family. She most recently moved to Hudson in 2010 to be close with her children, Janet and Arthur. She truly enjoyed all the special moments they shared together. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
Besides spending time with family and friends, Dorothy and Arthur took great pride in the cultivation of their vegetable garden in Pittsburgh. Dorothy was well known and appreciated for her expertise in the art of canning and preserving. She would prepare vegetables, jellies and pickles yearly for family and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, loving mother and adoring grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by all.
She is survived by her son, Arthur G. Bahl of Hudson; her daughter, Janet Saluk and her husband Bruce of Hudson; her sister, Bernice Hoffman of Pittsburgh, PA; her grandchildren, Robert "Bobby" Saluk of Hudson, Marianne Apicello of Santa Cruz, CA, Jennifer "Jenny Saluk" of Chicago, IL; her two great grandchildren, Gianna and Andre Apicello along with her nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, Feb.17th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial services will be held at the Christ our Redeemer Cemetery and Mausoleum in Pittsburgh, PA on Friday, Feb. 20th. Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Tuesday Feb. 17th from 7:45 to 8:45 a.m. prior to the mass at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
