Dorothy M. Balben, 86, a long time resident of Hudson, died on Friday, April 27th at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Westboro.
Dorothy was born in Somerville, daughter of the late Harold and Annie (Harris) Balben. She was raised in Waltham and was employed as a Key Punch Operator by the Raytheon Co. in Wayland for many years until her retirement. Dorothy enjoyed traveling and needlepoint in her spare time and especially loved the times she shared with her nieces and nephews. She was always a loving and caring aunt to all of them.
Dorothy is survived by her two brothers, Richard Balben of New Hampshire, Frank Balben of Massachusetts; her sister, Marie Brown of Texas and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Walter, George, Warren, Malcolm, William, Chester and Jack Balben.
Family and friends may attend a calling hour on Monday, April 30th from 11:00 to 12:00 noon at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 followed by funeral service on Monday, April 30th at 12:00 noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
